Couples have been escaping to the Pony Island Inn for decades. We enjoy watching our guests find new places to love with the ones they love.

The Journey Begins

Take a romantic stroll through the village of Ocracoke. Explore charming shops, art galleries, and boutiques hand in hand, discovering unique treasures along the way, such as The Village Craftsman. Here you can pick up a handcrafted souvenir to remember your trip.

Discover one of the many beaches nearby. We recommend Lifeguard Beach. Don’t take our word for it. In 2022, Dr. Beach designated it as the Best Beach in America.

Rent a Pony Island Express golf cart from the Inn and take a short ride over to the Ocracoke Lighthouse. Make sure to snap some romantic pictures with the Ocracoke scenery surrounding you. After you snap your pictures, stroll through Springer’s Point Nature Preserve. Discover the island’s untouched beauty as you wander along scenic trails, spotting wildlife and soaking in the coastal atmosphere.

Venture over to the historic Ocracoke Banker Ponies pen. These majestic creatures inhabit a serene 188-acre enclosure, safeguarded by the National Park Service since 1959. Witnessing their beauty is an ideal picture for your island adventure.

For the water lovers, take a kayaking trip with Ride the Wind Surf & Kayak or a sunset boat ride with Portsmouth Island Boat Tours.

Say cheers to your date night with dinner at Dajio, The Back Porch Restaurant, or Flying Melon.

End your evening with a romantic fire on the beach with your loved one. Ocracoke Beach Fires takes the stress out of private beach fires with fire set up, extra wood, and clean up. Opt for the S’mores package.
